Tzedakah (charity) is a fundamental part of Jewish life and we instill that value in our children as we collect and donate coins that we gather during religious school. On a larger scale, Or Tikvah’s Light of Hope Community Closet provides an outlet for social action and community service. As leaders in our community, we always play a role in ‘repairing the world’ or Tikkum Olam.
We will always be a spiritual home that people can afford.
Our philosophy has always been that we welcome everyone and because of that, we will work with families to ensure it is manageable for them. Our dues structure is significantly lower than most other congregations, because of this philosophy. This unusual perspective expresses our true belief that it is more important to welcome people, than turn them away; more important to build our Jewish community, than limit it.
